The Stone Cut Without Hands

Exploring the deep typology of the Tree of Life, the Last Adam, and the Kingdom of God.

Typology & Covenant

The Tree of Life

The Tree of Life in Eden was a shadow of Christ, the Last Adam. This insight explores the two Adams, the law, covenantal death, and how the stone from Daniel crushes the old order.

Preterist Eschatology

Daniel's Stone & The Last Adam

The stone cut without hands struck the image during the Roman Empire. This preterist view examines how Christ's kingdom began in the first century, was vindicated in AD 70, and is now filling the whole earth.

The Gospel — From Genesis to Revelation

Why Every Person Must Have Christ

The necessity of Christ begins in Genesis, not merely in the Gospels. Many people think Christ came simply to make people better, improve morality, or provide religious guidance. The Scriptures present something far deeper. Christ came because humanity lost life in Adam.

The Problem Begins with Adam

When God created Adam, He placed him in a covenant relationship and gave him access to the Tree of Life. Adam was created for fellowship with God, to live in His presence, and to extend His rule throughout the earth. But Adam sinned. As a result, death entered the world. Adam was expelled from the garden. The Tree of Life was barred. Humanity became separated from the source of life.

The great problem of mankind is therefore not merely bad behavior. The great problem is separation from the life of God. Everything else flows from that: sin, corruption, fear, violence, brokenness, decay, death — all manifestations of Adam's fall.

The Entire Old Covenant Testified to Humanity's Problem

After Adam, God established covenants, sacrifices, priesthoods, and eventually the Law through Moses. Yet none of these could fully restore what Adam lost. The tabernacle testified that man could not freely enter God's presence. The temple veil testified that access remained restricted. The sacrifices testified that sin still stood between God and man. The Law revealed sin but could not remove death. Everything pointed beyond itself — everything pointed to Christ.

Christ Is the Last Adam

Paul writes: "The first man Adam became a living soul; the last Adam became a life-giving Spirit" (1 Corinthians 15:45). The first Adam received life. The Last Adam gives life. The first Adam brought condemnation. The Last Adam brings justification. The first Adam brought death. The Last Adam brings resurrection life. The first Adam lost the Tree of Life. The Last Adam becomes the source of eternal life. Christ does not merely improve Adam — He succeeds where Adam failed and restores what Adam lost.

Christ Is the True Tree of Life

In Eden, access to the Tree of Life meant access to life from God. After the fall, mankind was excluded. Jesus finally declares: "I am the life. I am the resurrection and the life." Whoever has the Son has life. Whoever does not have the Son does not have life. The issue is not merely religion — the issue is life itself. Christ is not merely a teacher showing the way to life; Christ is life. Apart from Him there is no participation in the life of God.

Why Human Effort Cannot Solve the Problem

Humanity continually attempts to solve Adam's problem apart from Christ. Some seek morality. Others seek philosophy. Others seek wealth, power, education, pleasure, or religion. Yet none of these can reverse death, restore fellowship with God, or open the way back to the Tree of Life. This is why Daniel's Stone is "cut without hands" — the solution does not come from human effort. It comes from God. Salvation is not humanity climbing upward to God; it is God coming downward to humanity in Christ.

What It Means to Have Christ

To have Christ is to be united to Him. To trust Him. To participate in His life. To be reconciled to God. To move from Adam's realm into Christ's realm — from death into life, from condemnation into justification, from exile into fellowship, from the old creation into the new creation.

This is why Christ is necessary. Without Christ, humanity remains in Adam. With Christ, humanity shares in the life of the Last Adam. The question of Scripture is therefore not merely "Are you religious?" — the question is: "Are you in Adam, or are you in Christ?" For as in Adam all die, so also in Christ shall all be made alive.
